The following is an example of a malignant narcissist leading into invoking the narcissistic silent treatment. 

TWO WEEKS BEFORE JON DISAPPEARED
Jon (46 years old)  began to express how he and his friend Chucky (45 year old), were planning on finding Jon a young girl (16-21) to breed with. Jon expressed that Chucky had left his ex-girlfriend and their child for a younger girl, got married and is having children. This is an example of a shy-type (weak) narcissist who makes a long-term friend of a Classic Narcissist (strong).

ONE WEEK BEFORE JON DISAPPEARED
Jon was spending a lot of time on his laptop and he would become obsessed with news stories of young girls being sold into the sex trade, and he even began researching which state and countries had the youngest age of sexual consent and other similar disturbing (IMO) research. He found that in some areas of Mexico the youngest age of consent was 12 and began to talk about going to Mexico. He then stated that the US government took his passport and that he could not leave the country.

TWO DAYS BEFORE JON DISAPPEARED
He expressed his longing to have a son. I asked him "what would happen if we got pregnant, and it was not a boy?" He answered with "the entire time we have been having sex, you have not become pregnant" and then he said " You would resent me because you do not want to have children".
(This is the mirroring act combined with projection)

THE DAY BEFORE JON LEFT
He did some light duty work, agreed to do some work for one of the customers, entertained guests that came over to repair the  swimming pool and when we all went for a pizza dinner and everything was back to nOrMaL. In fact Jon was talking to guests as though he was making plans for the future.
